Sustainable Democracy Center

The Sustainable Democracy Center (SDC) is a non-partisan, independent organization established, in September 2002 in Beirut, Lebanon, to promote and assist in human development, through raising awareness about democracy, citizenship and human rights. The purpose of the center is to educate and empower Lebanese citizens regardless of confessional or geographic affiliation towards a stronger and more democratic, participatory Lebanese society. SDC is working towards achieving this goal primarily through training, publications and research.

The center aims at:
|
- Promoting dialogue among Lebanese youth, giving them a chance to learn more about the 'other'
- Developing or encouraging respect for diversity in a pluralist society through exchange and dialogue
- Increasing political awareness among the youth on the rule of law, human rights, pluralism and good governance

|
In order to maximize resources for its activities, SDC operates with a core team that expands on a per project basis.
